Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2018 Review: The Modest Kindle of Choice

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2018

The kindle Paperwhite had long stood boldly among users and prospective buyers as the basic Kindle -the market entry- E-reader which costs less but capable of  fulfilling your crave to read in a high-tech way. Amazon released new features ranging from waterproofing to Audible audiobooks, along with a couple of aesthetic touches to the product design as an overall upgrade to the kindle which debuted finally as the Kindle Oasis .

The then, released Kindle Paperwhite is similar to its predecessors but now comes with an advantage (waterproofing!). It is able to maintain its waterproof integrity underwater up to a maximum of 60 minutes and at a depth of 2 meters. This calls for an applause to Amazon, not to say that it has officially given you the license to read underwater (don't forget to take your goggles and air tank along with you!) -but anyway you get the point.

 Hardware Improvements

The display has been remade glassy as opposed to that of a recessed alcove, which shifts the Paperwhite closer to the better-grade Kindle Oasis. Amazon tells us that the front-lit lighting has been upgraded to those of modern standards with a single LED added amounting to a total of five LEDS (for comparison, the high-end Oasis features 12 LEDs, plus an adaptive light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment). The default storage which is 8GB is now double that of the old model, although there's also a 32GB variant. The conclusive verdict of the Kindle Paperwhite is that of it being smaller, lighter and a bit thinner, all for better grip, flexibility and portability.

 Waterproofing

The Paperwhite is faced by delayed interface response whenever its display-surface gets wet, notably due to the absence of physical buttons on the Paperwhite and its finger input requirement to turn pages. Amazon did good work this time around by including a software option which disables the touchscreen feature, leaving only that of page-turning swipe gestures.

Audiobook support for the Paperwhite is similar to that of the Oasis. With a pair of earpods connected via bluetooth, you can listen to your Audible library. While owning the ebook and audiobook versions of a title is excellent for a kindle reader, alternating between book titles has been made easier with Amazons
Synchronization services.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2018 Dimensions

A limited set of technical hitches are quite evident in the Kindle Paperwhite with the likes of; support for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi which is slower compared to current wifi speeds but still good enough for mundane internet demands(support for audiobooks downloadable only through Wi-Fi). The Paperwhite charges by Micro USB well short of the trending USB-C port, however its battery life is mind-blowingly pegged at four weeks under moderate usage). There are also newly integrated preset text settings that enable you to customize and save texts.

What's Its Use Again? Ans:For Reading.

Just maybe, incase if you've (as a newbie who owns a tablet) dismissed the relevance of not just the kindle Paperwhite but the overall Kindle lineup, don't forget that the Amazon Kindle array of E-readers are too valuable to be ignored by an average reading enthusiast or student particularly of the arts because it enables you to take along with you wherever you may go, the equivalent of an entire library or collections of libraries and also not to forget that Kindles are designed by Amazon and dedicated solely for reading albeit no more, no less. It's juicy 6" glare-free Screen size, gives the feeling of a wider field of view and maintains text readability regardless of external lighting conditions. All these makes the 2018 Kindle Paperwhite an Excellent choice for you.
