Samsung Care Plus Now Includes Unlimited Battery Repairs

Google is exploring the possibility of revolutionizing the app download experience on the Play Store by introducing 'parallel downloads.' Currently, users must patiently wait for one app to complete its download before initiating the next.

Better Than Ever!

Samsung Care Plus.
TL;DR

  • Google Play Store might soon let you download multiple apps at the same time, but it's still in testing.

  • Downloading multiple apps simultaneously could be a future option, but it might not include app updates.

  • Don't get too excited yet - this faster download feature might not make it out of Google's testing phase.

Exciting updates await Samsung Galaxy device owners enrolled in the Samsung Care Plus program, as Samsung announces enhancements to its device protection program. Commencing in May 2024, subscribers can enjoy unlimited battery repairs, marking a significant improvement in device maintenance.

Samsung Care Plus offers comprehensive device protection plans, extending beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty. Subscribers can enroll within 60 days of purchasing an eligible Galaxy device, gaining access to unlimited repairs for drops, spills, mechanical breakdowns, and even theft coverage, depending on the chosen plan. Plan options range from approximately $10 to $18 per month for up to 36 months.

Previously, Samsung Care Plus provided a one-time battery replacement for eligible devices, primarily addressing mechanical failures. However, the updated program now extends coverage to include battery health degradation concerns.

Galaxy device owners experiencing battery deterioration below a charging capacity of 79% can now benefit from free battery repairs under the Care Plus program. This enhancement applies to both the Care Plus with Theft and Loss plan and the standard Care Plus plan, offering unlimited repairs throughout the coverage period.

Users can opt for either walk-in repairs or mail-in service for battery-related issues, although specifics regarding total battery replacements remain uncertain. Samsung stipulates that repairs must occur 'without additional damage to the covered device,' implying potential complications for devices exhibiting external damage or mishandling.

Despite the added benefit of expanded battery coverage, subscribers should anticipate a slight increase in monthly plan costs. Beginning with the May billing cycle, both Samsung Care Plus plans will incur a $2 monthly fee hike. Continued payment after May 1st will signify acceptance of the revised terms. Existing subscribers have the option to retain the updated plans or cancel without penalty by contacting Samsung Care Plus representatives.

Samsung has recently introduced advanced battery health protection features in One UI 6.1. This move underscores the company's dedication to extending the lifespan of Galaxy devices, aligning with these changes.
