Software can be defined as the intangible component of a computer system, which consists of a set of instructions and data which run and make the generality of a computer hardware to be functional.
Types of Software
There are two main types of software, namely;
1. Operating System (OS): An Operating System (OS) is the most important software, which after been booted into a computer, runs all other applications. An operating system oversees all of a computer's memory and processes.
Examples of operating system; Android OS, iOS, Symbian, Windows e.t.c.
2. Application Software: This refers to software which serves a particular task for a user.
Examples of application software; Adobe Premier Pro, Facebook, Twitter.e.t.c.
